Abstract

After two years of work centered on the product of a Cartel focused on the Traversal of Fantasy, the initial question remained: is it possible to name and define a time that lies between a potential traversal of fantasy and the actual conclusion of an analysis? In the course of developing this line of inquiry, an invitation emerged—at just the right moment—to explore the articulation of Time, the Passer Function, and the Formation of the Analyst within a School Space. This proposal allowed the present article to emerge also as a Cartel product, organized around the following thesis: The Passer — a name for a time in the formation of the analyst. The text examines how both the traversal of an analysis and the formation of the analyst involve a heterogeneous temporality—a logic not bound by punctuality, predictability, linearity, or sequence. The Lacanian School’s wager on the logic of its structure—still relevant today through the Cartel and the Pass—lies in placing at its core the temporality of the act: that disruptive moment capable of registering the effects of an emergent, traveling, singular knowledge, contingently produced through eachone’s crossings. This discussion unfolds through fragments drawn from an experience in the function of the passer. This function highlights a timeless ethical challenge: if the work within this School framework is not sustained as a kind of search, a birthing, a production of new modes of listening—for each, at any moment of their formation—do we not risk turning its potential for rupture with convention into nothing more than a suture?
