Ethics and Good Practices Policy
Stylus Journal is committed to high standards of editorial ethics and academic integrity. We follow the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adopt practices to prevent any form of misconduct in research, publication or scientific review.
Authors' Responsibilities:
• Authors must ensure that their texts are original and do not contain excerpts from other works without due citation.
• Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are prohibited.
• All authors must have contributed significantly to the work.
• Conflicts of interest must be declared at the time of submission.
• Submitted articles cannot be under simultaneous evaluation by another journal.
Plagiarism Prevention:
• All texts submitted to the journal can be evaluated with similarity checking tools, such as CopySpider.
• Cases of plagiarism identified before or after publication will result in rejection or retraction of the article, depending on the severity.
Responsibilities of the editors:
• The editors are responsible for deciding which articles will be published, based on academic, ethical and technical criteria.
• The editorial team acts impartially, independently and transparently.
• Complaints or appeals will be evaluated seriously and in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Responsibilities of the reviewers:
• Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two ad hoc reviewers.
• Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and declare conflicts of interest, if any.
• The evaluation must be objective, constructive and carried out within the established deadlines.
Retractions and corrections:
• The journal will publish retractions, corrections or errata when relevant errors are identified.
• Cases of proven misconduct (plagiarism, fabrication of data, etc.) will be treated based on COPE recommendations.
