No. 14 (2007): Love, desire, and pleasure

View No. 14 (2007): Love, desire, and pleasure

Drawing upon a privileged dialogue with art to interrogate the reality of the human condition, psychoanalysis confronts the vicissitudes of "being-for-sex" and the structural impasses of the life of the drives. Far from being restricted to a merely imaginary grasp of relationships, the analytical experience invites a rigorous reflection on the mystery of femininity and the articulations between love, desire, and *jouissance*—examining that which escapes phallic logic and reveals the power of creation and *pathos*.

In this 14th volume of the journal *Stylus*—a publication of the Association of Forums of the Lacanian Field (AFCL) centered on the theme "Love, Desire, and *Jouissance*"—psychoanalysts and researchers explore the resonances of "Other *jouissance*," the disjunction between love and desire, and the sexual reality of the unconscious. Through dialogues with literature and cinema, conceptual elaborations, and explorations of clinical practice and the *passe*, this edition examines the subject’s traversal within analysis, as well as the implications of the inconsistency of the Other for theory, practice, and the School itself.
